It has variety of clinical features depending upon the site involved, most common sites being brain, subcutaneous tissue and skeletal muscles. It can be diagnosed by variety of diagnostic modalities like radiology, cytology and histopathology. Fine needle aspiration cytology is the preferred diagnostic tool for diagnosis of Cysticercosis in a secondary level care centre like ours due to its low cost.

Diagnostic pitfalls of pilomatricoma on fine needle aspiration cytology

Pilomatricoma is a benign skin adnexal tumour usually seen in the head and neck region of children and young adults. It is underrecognized on cytology, resulting in the overdiagnosis of malignancy. We bring forth a case report of a slow growing nodular swelling in a 10-year-old female child, which was misdiagnosed on Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) as a malignant neoplasm and found to be...

Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is minimally invasive, quick, and a definitive diagnostic modality. Biopsy for histopathology is the gold standard method for diagnosis but is invasive. The aims of this study were to determine th...
